    Tissot horloge - Brunott Juwelier

    Tissot watch

The Swiss watch brand Tissot watches was founded in 1853 in the town of Le Locle in the Jura Mountains in Switzerland. In the following century, the company gained international recognition with its pocket watch called Savonette. Even when the wristwatch became popular in the early 20th century, Tissot managed to draw attention to its watches time and again. Still today, the "Banana Watch" from 1916 and the first watches in the Art Deco style (1919) are considered style icons of that era. Also in the technical field, Tissot watches have always managed to distinguish themselves: the first antimagnetic watch (1930), the first mechanical watch made of plastic (Astrolon, 1971) and the T-Touch (1999) with touchscreen all illustrate Tissot's extraordinary ability to find unusual and modern solutions.

Today, Tissot is owned by the Swatch Group and serves as the group's entry-level brand with its extensive range of quartz watches and affordable mechanical watches. From the 2011 Seastar 1000 collection for divers to the T-Pocket series, the brand basically reaches out to everyone. The Sailing Touch, a watch that offers sailors a huge amount of much-needed information, was presented at Baselworld 2010. The Couturier chronograph line features the new ETA chronograph caliber C01.211. This caliber includes a number of parts made of plastic: another step in making mechanical timepieces simpler and more affordable.
